Friday, March 13th at 5:30 - 6:00 PM Welcoming Shabbat For Tots: The Purim Edition SERVICE ONLY Come fill the sanctuary with your tots, as we welcome Shabbat and rejoice. This month, we will celebrate Purim with songs, dancing and stories. Feel free to come in costume. This evening will include only the service; there will be no dinner. The only cost is a Shabbat Shalom smile. All are welcome. _______________
Friday, March 13th at 8:00 PM Shabbat Service and Bar Mitzvah of Benjamin Silk On this night, Temple Beth Am will embrace the Shabbat with ruach and spirituality. Additionally, we will celebrate with the Silk family as Benjamin becomes a Bar Mitzvah. On this Shabbat, we will read from the Torah portion Ki Tisa. In this Torah portion, while Moses is on Mt. Sinai, the Israelites worry that Moses will never return. In response to their fears, they build the Golden Calf. Come be a part of this topical discussion. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Then, from 10:00-11:30 AM, we will gather in the sanctuary for singing, dancing, and the reading of the Megillah/The Story of Esther. Our time in the sanctuary with be topped off with this year’s amazing Purim spiel, “Oklahaman!!” Then, the carnival doors will be open from 11:30 AM-1:00 PM for everyone. We will joyfully celebrate this holiday by sampling fruits and wines (and grape juice) of all types, and hear special readings that remind us of our responsibility to care for the earth. Congregants and non-congregants alike are invited to take this journey with Rabbi Robbie. No previous knowledge is required, and all backgrounds are welcome. __________________

Friday December 20th Chanukah Extravaganza 7:00 PM Dinner for Religious School Families 8:00 PM Service Come celebrate Chanukah with your Temple Beth Am family. The evening kicks off at 7:00 PM with a special Shabbat/Chanukah dinner for our religious school families. The dinner is free, but please RSVP to cantor@templebetham-ny.org by December 13th. Then, at 8:00 PM, we will move into the sanctuary for our own unique brand of Shabbat joy, as we sing Chanukah songs with our 3rd and 4th graders. To top it all off, our Temple Beth Am Choir will spiritually move us as they sprinkle their Chanukah and Shabbat spirit throughout the service. Non-perishable foods are being collected for The First Presbyterian Church Food Pantry. Hope to see you there as we bring in the Chanukah holiday. ___________________________

A quick look at our upcoming Shabbat and special services
June 21st at 8:00 PM Shabbat Service With Our Scholar-In-Residence At this special Shabbat Service, we will welcome Dr. Beryl Levinger, our longtime friend and teacher, to our bimah. Her topic for this evening will be “Words: Friends or Foes?” She plans to help us explore Jewish teachings related to how we should (and shouldn’t) speak to and about one another. Our modern Shabbat service has a spiritually engaging and warm feeling. All are welcome to our friendly, sacred space. __________________
June 28th at 8:00 PM Shabbat Service Come fill the sanctuary with your blessed presence. On this Shabbat, we will read from the Torah portion Sh'lach L'cha. In this portion, God sends scouts to get their first peek at the Promised Land. Come learn if the scouts celebrate their new inheritance or if they think they were gifted a "fixer-upper." Looking forward to seeing you there. _____________________

June 7th at 7:00 PM Family Shabbat Service and Bat Mitzvah of Anna Bellinson At this special Shabbat service, we will celebrate Shabbat with guitar, stories and fun! This service, geared for families with children in 1st-5th grade, utilizes a creative and dynamic prayerbook filled with special readings and songs. Also, as a community, we will celebrate Anna Bellinson becoming a Bat Mitzvah. The beauty and thrill of Shabbat are open to congregants and non-congregants alike, so come rejoice with us. __________________
June 14th at 5:30 PM Welcoming Shabbat For Tots Come fill the sanctuary with your tots for “Welcoming Shabbat.” Filled with movement, music, and ruach (spirit), Rabbi Robbie and Rebbetzin Ellen help bring in the Shabbat with that special "Shabbat Spirit” followed by a Shabbat dinner. The only cost of the dinner is a Shabbat Shalom smile. All are welcome. ___________________

May 31st at 8:00 PM Scout Shabbat and Choir Shabbat Two events, one night!!! On this Shabbat, we will honor all of our young people who participate in our local scouting programs. All of them, from Eagles to Brownies, deserve recognition. Also, Cantor Jamie and the choir will present beautiful musical selections to enhance our prayers as well as our souls. Hope to see you there. _____________________

May 17th at 8:00 PM Youth Celebration Service Come join us as the congregation of Temple Beth Am celebrates our post-Bar and Bat Mitzvah youth. They will lead our service with a prayer book created by them which includes special readings, songs and artistry. We will also award our 5779 Confirmands and honor our 5779 graduates. All are welcome as we help our youth celebrate their Jewish heritage and individual Jewish identities.
May 24th at 8:00 PM Shabbat Service Come fill the sanctuary with your blessed presence. On this Shabbat, we will read from the Torah portion Behar. In this portion, God instructs us to give the land a break. Come discuss the meaning and the reason for giving the environment a break. Looking forward to seeing you there.

May 2nd at 7:30 PM Yom Hashoah Service Join us at Temple to commemorate Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) on May 2nd at 7:30 PM. Come meet Monica Getz and hear her tell her parents’ story. Monica will speak to us about the role her parents played in rescuing many people from the concentration camps. Hear her heroic tale and participate in this powerful and spiritual evening, as we commit to “Never Again.” All are welcome. __________________________________________

Come hear and learn about the meaning of "holiness" as explained in the Torah. Is your definition of holiness different from the Torah's definition? Also, as a community, we will celebrate Layla Federoff becoming a Bat Mitzvah. Congregants and non-congregants alike are invited to celebrate the Shabbat with us. ___________________________
