The purpose of this Congregation shall be to worship God in accordance with the faith of Judaism, to cultivate a love and understanding of the Jewish heritage, to stimulate fellowship in the Jewish community, and to strengthen the bonds of loyalty with the Jewish people everywhere, through an emphasis on the principles of righteousness in society at large.
It shall be the mission of Temple Beth Am of Northern Westchester to welcome everyone who wishes to associate with Judaism, regardless of background or level of commitment. A diverse congregation shall be fostered and encouraged, as diversity is the source of our strength.
Temple Beth Am shall serve as a center for the expression of being Jewish in all its richness - on the secular side, in identifying with being a member of the Jewish people with thousands of years' history - and on the religious side as exemplified by our faith. We shall strive to maintain the balance - and tolerance - between the two that makes our congregation truly religious.
