Temple Beth Am, established in 1963, has a congregation of over 180 families.

We offer you and your family a richly rewarding experience in Reform Judaism.

The friendly informality of our Temple is one of its treasured intangibles.

A feeling of meeting with friends characterizes every aspect of Temple life.

Mission Statement for Temple Beth Am

The purpose of this Congregation shall be to worship God in accordance with the faith of Judaism, to cultivate a love and understanding of the Jewish heritage, to stimulate fellowship in the Jewish community, and to strengthen the bonds of loyalty with the Jewish people everywhere, through an emphasis on the principles of righteousness in society at large.

It shall be the mission of Temple Beth Am of Northern Westchester to welcome everyone who wishes to associate with Judaism, regardless of background or level of commitment. A diverse congregation shall be fostered and encouraged, as diversity is the source of our strength.

Temple Beth Am shall serve as a center for the expression of being Jewish in all its richness - on the secular side, in identifying with being a member of the Jewish people with thousands of years' history - and on the religious side as exemplified by our faith. We shall strive to maintain the balance - and tolerance - between the two that makes our congregation truly religious.

MEMBERSHIP

The Temple has a threefold purpose: to be a place of worship, a place of education, and a place of social fellowship.

Temple members are offered a wide range of activities from which to draw and are encouraged to start their own interest group if one has not yet been established.

All members are invited to become an integral part of the greater Temple family by attending Friday evening and Holiday services, participating in committee work, contributing in a leadership role, supporting Temple functions, hosting Oneg Shabbats, making phone calls to fellow members when requested, and more.
